THE MOVIE
The film rights to The Secret Diaries of Charlotte Brontë have been optioned by
Cool Hand Entertainment,
a British production company, who plan to turn the book into a major UK/US theatrical film.
The romantic drama, set on the wild and windy Yorkshire moors, will
thrillingly recount the true story of Charlotte Brontë's turbulent relationship with handsome Irishman Arthur Bell Nicholls, and her journey
to becoming the famous author of Jane Eyre.
As Charlotte and her sisters Anne and Emily (Wuthering Heights) overcome grave obstacles to become
published novelists, Charlotte must also come to terms with an unrequited longing, before she can recognize in Mr. Nicholls the love of her
life—a love story which is every bit as fiery as the ones she creates.
